Sorry for your loss. I hope you take time to reflect and see that COVID/climate hysteria is weaponized against mental health. The goal is to instill fear so you give more power to governments and corporations. Perhaps you can write a piece about the many thousands of African children who work in hazardous mines to extract rare earth minerals for your phones, electric cars, and solar panels.

Yuri, you've left a few comments on articles we've posted that are quite dismissing of people's experiences and struggles, and we'd welcome a more compassionate approach. This space is a rare corner of the internet that exists to validate and support the suffering that many people are experiencing around the 'polycrisis', and climate in particular. The point you make about the suffering of children working in mines to feed the desires of the Global North is a good one. I understand we disagree on a few things, but please respect what we are trying to do here by trolling less.

Understood, but please avoid smearing cogent arguments as trolling. I am compassionate to all who are struggling. However, it is well documented that the fearmongering and hysteria is driven from top down for profit and power. Military grade psychological tactics are being deployed on you. I am trying to empower you to understand this system better so that you can avoid negativity and self harm. Knowledge is power.

Thank you Yuri, for your concern.

These kinds of comments that you've left before are what I mean:

"Yuri Bezmenov

Here’s a crazy idea. Maybe if you stop believing in apocalyptic hysteria funded by corporate interests, you’ll have better mental health instead of demanding others pay for it. Join the resistance and follow the science! https://yuribezmenov.substack.com/p/how-to-follow-the-science-join-the-resistanc" it's a bit troll-y, to be fair, because it is meant to antagonize/insult what's been said in the article. I don't need to use that term, can drop it from now on with you, but thanks for your response. Also what you say is "well documented hysteria driven from the top down for profit and power" is what we disagree about, so we'll have to agree to disagree.

Here are a few documented examples from Canada and UK. Fear has always been used to control people. I have faith that you can overcome crippling fear to live a full and happy life. It's a beautiful world and improving your information diet will help you enjoy it and understand it more.

"Compassionate."

No. What you mean is "we want you to obey and agree, and we're using feminine-style passive aggression, which we call empathy and compassion, to emotionally manipulate you into not challenging us."

Fuck your "whataboutism" and fuck you

When you use ad hominem slurs, you have lost the argument and should seek professional help.

Nothing in my response was intended to "win the argument", I am calling a spade a spade.

You are literally engaging in "whataboutism", the same way I've seen you trying to "whataboutism" about China and climate change.

At least, we agree that corporations/capitalists are the real enemy for power/profit.

The difference is that you think that they're somehow "progressive or woke", and are a climate change denier. You're not wanted in this space, so go away, no engagement can be had when we barely agree on the basics.

According to some, the current Fossil Fuel industry uses more rare minerals than the new energy of solar/wind/battery ever will.

I am sorry to see this comment section devolve into attacks on each other, which might lead to this important interview to get lost or forgotten over the back and forth of these comments.

Charlie's experience is sadly far too common, and I appreciate the open, honest and cogent reflection on climate change and mental health, including suicidality. There are so many great suggestions here on how to be with people who are in this difficult place. And also lots of great suggestions of how to prepare your community to be a safe haven for more and more people in despair and distress.

Let's not lose one single other person to this combination of pains!!!!

Thanks, Britt and Charlie for this submission!

I'm still surprised most of the desperation of climate activists still fall on deaf ears.

Climate change is a real concern, and has the potential to be an expensive inconvenience for the developed world several decades hence. But pretending it is an existential issue for anyone living outside Bangladesh or the Maldives any time before the 22nd Century is unscientific and irresponsible.

American carbon emissions are lower today than they were in 2005. You might want to translate this feed into Mandarin and Hindi for the people who have the most potential to prevent a worst case scenario (which the IPCC says we’re already on track to avoid)
